CSK Deepak Chahar to miss IPL and possible World Cup too

After being ruled out of the IPL 2022 due to a back ailment, Deepak Chahar took to social media on Friday to send a message to his followers. Chahar had been out of the game since India's T20I series against the West Indies and was expected to skip the first half of the high-profile league. However, a back ailment during rehab ended his chances of playing the rest of the IPL 2022 season. In the IPL mega auction, Chennai Super Kings(CSK) recruited the 29-year-old for Rs 14 crore.
The CSK star was recovering from a quadriceps tear at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He was bowling in the nets when he sustained a new back injury. According to the latest reports, the Team India pacer will be out for at least four months. While he has already been ruled out of the IPL 2022, doubts remain about his involvement in the T20 World Cup 2022, which is set to take place in Australia in October-November this year.
Chahar wrote in his social media account that due to the injury, he will be unable to participate in the IPL this season. He really wanted to participate, but he will come back stronger and better than before. He thanked all his fans for always showing their love and best wishes to him.
In February of this year, Chahar was last seen in action against the West Indies. During the third T20I in Kolkata, he sustained an injury.
On the other hand, the 29-year-old has established himself as an important member of the CSK squad. Although the right-arm pacer isn't the fastest bowler in the world, his talent to swing the new ball makes him a dangerous weapon. The pacer has a quick yorker and a well-disguised slower delivery to play in the slog overs.
So far in his career, the pacer has appeared in five IPL editions, taking 59 wickets in 63 matches. In the tournament, his best bowling figures are 4-13.
