Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg spinner for Rajasthan Royals(RR), bowled a brilliant delivery to dismiss David Willey and put his team in the driving seat in the 13th match of the IPL 2022 against his previous franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB). Chahal hauled up the opponent's skipper off the final delivery of his first over, as the Faf du Plessis-led side was cruising at 55 for no loss.

Due to a mix-up, Chahal returned for his second over and was engaged in a superb run out by Sanju Samson to dismiss Virat Kohli for just five runs. Chahal followed up with an excellent legspinner that the batter failed to read, resulting in the ball rebounding back significantly to upset the stumps. It was a turning point for RCB, who had just lost Kohli and Willey in the space of two deliveries and were down to 62 for 4 in the ninth over.

Chahal has performed admirably for the Royals in the three matches he has played so far in the IPL 2022, and RCB will be kicking themselves for not retaining him ahead of the super auction. With Willey's dismissal, the 31-year-old has already taken seven wickets and is in second in the Purple Cap race. Chahal was the one who swung the game in the Royals' favour in the previous match against Mumbai Indians, taking two wickets in a short period of time. He obviously has a talent for severing alliances.

Earlier in the day, RR scored 169 runs in 20 overs on a difficult track at the Wankhede Stadium, due to another solid performance from Jos Buttler, who stayed unbeaten on 70, and Hetmyer, who backed him well with a 31-ball 42.

However, the veteran Dinesh Karthik teamed up with Shahbaz Ahmed, and the duo's outstanding stroke play put RR on the back foot. The duo was equally impressive since the needed run rate was quickly reduced. It was pretty straight forward when Shahbaz was removed for a 26-ball 45 in the 18th over. As RCB crossed the line in 19.1 overs, Karthik stayed undefeated on 44 from 23 balls as they won by four wickets.
